Directed by Ray Tintori known for his videos for MGMT, “Chemistry” comes from last year’s album Everything Now. Following a cat and a dog falling in love during a reception, the visuals effects were animated by Starburns Industries, the same company behind Rick and Morty. 

“We’ve been big fans of Ray’s work since his early videos,” frontman Win Butler said in a statement, who finally met up with Tintori during Mardi Gras in New Orleans this past year. “There is a playful, carnivalesque energy to the song; to capture that by filming literally during carnival felt right.”
